4H CAMPS/ LEAD CONTESTS/ FIELD TRIPS
4H Ghana programs during camps give members, advisors and stakeholders time to meet, socialize and build relationships with others. During camps, members work on projects and learn about teambuilding. Lifelong relations are built while members participate in experienced based leadership workshops, life skills projects (eg. crocheting, beadmaking, weaving, etc) and fun activities like Agric Olympic games. Camp activities can be organized on at the club, district, regional and national levels.
Leadership, Education and Agricultural Development (LEAD) Contests – LEAD Contests are designed to make classroom instruction practical with real world applications. Through a variety of methods, Junior and Senior High School students in Ghana are able to practice numerous skills, competencies and demonstrations of their critical life skills. With guided rules for participation, these LEAD contests have been developed to instill pride in students, promote understanding of a topic and to provide opportunities for new student experiences. Students engage in friendly competition to bring pride to themselves, their communities and 4-H Ghana as a whole.

Field Trips and excursions help build upon the Students’ Education through Real Life Experiences. Clubs plan and travel to places to learn new and interesting things at first hand. It can be an outdoor visit to the local poultry farmer or a long-distance trip to a tourist attraction site. Field trips provide clubs with tangible experiences, making learning more engaging, memorable and relevant. It also promotes critical thinking, enhance observational skills, and nurture a sense of curiosity and wonder.
